Dear Sir Henry,

I have received your private note of the 19th July which accompanied your despatch of the 18th July, regarding the nursing staff of the Colony.

We are answering the despatch by this mail and enclosing a copy of correspondence with the Colonial Nursing Association, which shows you that the Committee has explained to a considerable extent upon ordinary grounds the difficulties which have occurred in filling the vacancies for nurses at the Government Civil Hospital, & does not suggest any direct connection between these difficulties & Hughes.

I don't think the Colonial Nursing Association would be prepared to report to us officially or even semi-officially any information which they may have received as to dissatisfaction in the Colony nursing staff, as they consider that such complaints should be...
